The following is being distributed at the request of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency:

Allergy alert on undeclared eggs and skim milk in Rich's Strawberry Shortcake

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has been informed by Rich Products Corporation of Buffalo, New York that it is recalling its 3.25 ounce (approximately 100 gram) containers of Rich's Strawberry Shortcake because the product contains undeclared eggs and skim milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs and/or milk run the risk of a serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Rich's Strawberry Shortcake is distributed throughout Canada. The product is in 3.25 ounce clear plastic, round containers and identified as "Rich's Strawberry Artificially Flavored Shortcake" on the lid.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

Consumers may return the improperly labelled product to the point of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the Rich Products Corporation at 1-800-356-7094.

CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
