Allergy alert

Hershey Canada is warning consumers with allergies to almonds not to consume its 100 gram milk chocolate fundraising bars as they may contain almonds not shown in the list of ingredients. These were sold in the Atlantic provinces since May 1998.

These milk chocolate bars can be identified by a $2.00 price mark and the words "Thank you for your support" printed on the label.

Consumption of this product is only of concern to those people who are allergic to almonds. Consumers with concerns about this product should call Hershey Consumer Relations at 1-800-468-1714.  This alert does not apply to other Hershey milk chocolate bars.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the effectiveness of this recall.
