The following is being distributed at the request of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency:

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning consumers with peanut allergies not to eat JHC brand Pad Thai Sauce (Spicy Thai Sauce for Stirring with Rice Stick), distributed by Jack Hua Company, Ltd., Bangkok, Thailand and sold in 227g jars. This pad thai sauce is available with two different labels, some of the labels having a UPC Code: (8850647000282). This product contains peanuts which are not declared on the label.

This notice follows a May 6 recall and public warning, in Quebec and Ontario in relation to this product. It is now known that JHC brand Pad Thai Sauce is imported and distributed across Canada by a number of companies. All companies are recalling this product from the marketplace.

Consumption of this product is of concern only for those who are allergic to peanuts. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
