The minister has received information from that substantial numbers of migratory caribou from the George River herd are in the area. The minister is pleased to provide residents with this hunting opportunity.

"The staff of the Wildlife Division of my department will continue to monitor the movement of the George River caribou herd," said the minister. "Hunters are advised that additional areas may be opened as the caribou migration continues."

"I would like to remind all hunters to apply safe and ethical hunting practices," said Ernest MacLean, MHA for Lake Melville. "I wish hunters every enjoyment and success in their hunting pursuits."
