Media Accreditation for Aquaculture Canada '98

The Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association (NAIA), in conjunction with the Aquaculture Association of Canada (AAC), will host Aquaculture Canada '98 in St. John's from May 31 to June 3.

The conference theme is Research: An Investment In Our Future and will focus on practical solutions to impediments faced by the commercial aquaculture industry. Several sessions will highlight the current status of aquaculture in Newfoundland and Labrador, including commercial development and applied research and development. Over 400 delegates from across Canada, Europe and the United States are expected to attend.

Aquaculture Canada is an annual national conference of the AAC. The Association has 1000 members, comprised of aquaculture producers, suppliers, scientists, educators, students and government representatives. NAIA represents all segments of the aquaculture industry in the Newfoundland and Labrador and has over 130 members.

Media accreditation forms are available from Jan Woodford, (709) 729-0397. Pre-registration for accreditation will allow conference organizers to serve media more efficiently. Media interested in attending all or part of the conference are requested to submit their accreditation forms by fax or email no later than May 20, 1998.

The Conference will be held at the Delta Hotel and Conference Centre in St. John's.
