Conference February 3 for fish processors

Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister John Efford has invited all fish processors to a conference in Gander on Tuesday, February 3 to discuss a range of issues relating to the processing sector.

To date, more than 60 companies have indicated they will have representatives at the event, to be held at the Albatross Motel. This is the second such conference for processors. The first, held in the fall of 1996, was also initiated by Minister Efford and his department.

Quality assurance initiatives, market overviews, and licencing policy issues are among the topics for presentations and discussions.

 

NOTE TO EDITORS:

Although the conference is not open to the media, there will be some opportunity for interviews, as follows:

Registration - 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Break - 10:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Lunch break - Noon to1:30 p.m.
Break - 3:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The conference concludes at 5 p.m.
