Premier announces appointment
of senior officials
Premier Tobin today announced
the appointment of two senior government officials.
Florence Delaney, who was
Assistant Deputy Minister - Finance and Support Services in the Department
of Health and Community Services, will become Assistant Secretary -
Budgeting to Treasury Board.
Donna Brewer will assume the
role of Assistant Deputy Minister - Support Services (Acting), Department of
Health and Community Services. Her most recent position was Director of
Budgeting, Treasury Board Secretariat.
These appointments are effective
November 30, 1998.

FLORENCE DELANEY
Appointed as
Assistant Secretary (Budgeting)
to Treasury Board
Florence Delaney has
been employed with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador since
1973. Her most recent role was Assistant Deputy Minister, Finance
and Support Services, Department of Health and Community Services.
Through the years, Ms. Delaney has served a variety of positions
including: Assistant Secretary to Cabinet - Social Policy; Assistant
Deputy Minister - Support Services, Department of Education;
Director of Budgeting, Treasury Board Secretariat; and Director of
Finance and General Operations, Department of Works, Services and
Transportation. Ms. Delaney holds a Bachelor of Commerce from
Memorial University of Newfoundland.
DONNA BREWER
Appointed as
Assistant Deputy Minister - Support Services (Acting)
Department of Health and Community Services
Donna Brewer began her
career with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1987. Her
most recent position was Director of Budgeting, Treasury Board
Secretariat. Over the years, Ms. Brewer has worked in a variety of
provincial government positions including positions with Treasury
Board Secretariat, the Department of Education, the Provincial
Public Libraries Board and the Department of Health. Ms. Brewer
holds a chartered accountant professional designation and a Bachelor
of Commerce (cooperative), honours degree from Memorial University
of Newfoundland.
