Operation ONLINE is pleased to announce that on April 6 and April 7, Premier Brian Tobin and Operation ONLINE will be leading a business venture of IT representatives from government and the Information Technology (IT) sector to Ottawa and Toronto to promote Newfoundland and Labrador's IT industry.

Activities include speaking engagements to select audiences, signings of Memorandums of Understanding with industry partners in Ottawa and Toronto, as well as several private meetings between IT companies in Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario.

The agenda will include the following functions:

MONDAY, APRIL 6, 1998

Event: OCRI/ITAC Luncheon

Time: 11:45 to 1:30 p.m.

Venue: Corel Centre (Coliseum Room), Ottawa, Ontario

Guest Speaker: Brian Tobin, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador

The Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) and the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) will host a luncheon for approximately 200 IT executives. Both organizations are actively involved in networking and business development events in the Ottawa region and represent a membership of several hundred of the fastest growing IT firms in Canada

Immediately following the luncheon there will be a public signing of an Agreement to Partner between OCRI and Operation ONLINE for future collaboration on IT development.

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 7, 1998

Event: Signing of an MOU between Silicon Graphics, the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and Operation ONLINE.

Time: 10:00 a.m.

Venue: Royal Bank Building (40th floor), Corporate Suite

Following an address by Premier Brian Tobin at the Maclean Hunter/Silicon Valley North VIP breakfast, a public signing of a Memorandum of Understanding will occur between Silicon Graphics, the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and Operation ONLINE Inc. to support the establishment of world-class visualization capability in Newfoundland and Labrador.

NOTE: The VIP breakfast is by invitation only, however, media are invited to attend the signing of the MOU.
