NOTE TO EDITORS:

1998 Vehicle Emissions Clinic

This year the Department of Environment and Labour, in conjunction with Environment Canada, the Lung Association of Newfoundland, and SPX Automotive Diagnostics will be conducting the 9th Annual Vehicle Emissions Clinic. The clinic is a no fees / no fines voluntary clinic intended to increase public awareness of motor vehicle emissions, and to promote effective maintenance to curb this pollution. Each vehicle tested is subjected to an engine exhaust emission test as well as an "underhood" inspection of the various pollution control devices. Once a vehicle is tested, the driver will be given a detailed report on their motor vehicle's pollution performance.
