Environmental Assessment Bulletin Environment and Labour Minister Oliver Langdon has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act. In the case of documents received or approved, copies may be obtained by contacting the regional office of the Department of Environment and Labour or by calling toll-free 1-800-563-6181. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown for each item. NEW UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:
The proponent proposes to construct and operate an auto salvage yard two kilometers from the Town of Chapel Arm, Trinity Bay along the Chapel Arm access road behind Power's Garage. The proposal will involve the salvage of re-usable auto parts. The undertaking was registered on June 29, 1998; public comments must be received by July 30, 1998; and the minister's decision is due on August 13, 1998. DECISION DATE EXTENDED:
The original due date of the minister's decision on the acceptability of the registration document has been extended to July 15, 1998. The extended time period will facilitate completion of the scientific and technical review of the document. NO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT REQUIRED: The minister has decided that an Environmental Impact Statement is not required for the following undertakings:
