Chair of the labour relations board appointed

Oliver Langdon, Minister of Environment and Labour, today announced the appointment of Christine Fagan, Q.C. as chair of the Labour Relations Board for a five year term effective March 5.

Ms. Fagan has served as vice-chair of the Labour Relations Board since January 1996. She has extensive experience in labour relations and has assisted labour and management over the years on labour relations matters. Her experience includes chair of conciliation boards, an active arbitrator in the province for many years, a member of the Panel of Arbitrators, and provision of mediation services to both the public and private sector. She has also served as past vice-chair of the Worker's Compensation Appeals Tribunal.

"We trust all stakeholders will support Ms. Fagan in her role as chair of the Labour Relations Board. Ms. Fagan's extensive experience will ensure labour and management receive the services they require from the Labour Relations Board," the minister said.
