Information update - Career Academy students

Education Minister Roger Grimes, today announced that the majority of the 1400 students have now been placed. Students are to report to the following locations at the times indicated.

1. ST. JOHN'S AND CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH STUDENTS

Students in the St. John's and Conception Bay South area are asked to report to the following receiving institutions in St. John's on Monday, August 24 at noon unless another time is indicated next to your program.

Animal Care students

  • All students are to report to Academy Canada at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 24 in St. John's.

Business Administration students

  • Students graduating in November, 1998, report to Academy Canada in St. John's.

  • Students graduating in February, 1999, report to CompuCollege in St. John's.

  • Students graduating in May, 1999, report to Academy Canada in St. John's.

Business Administration (Human Resources)

  • All students report to CompuCollege in St. John's.

All Business Administration and Business Administration (Human Resources) students doing employability skills, On-The-Job-Training or preparing for On-The-Job-Training are to report to Academy Canada at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 24 in St. John's.

Cosmetology students

  • All students are to report to Academy Canada in St. John's.

Early Childhood Education students

  • All students are to report to Lawrence College in St. John's.

Electronic Servicing Technician students

  • All students are to report to CompuCollege in St. John's.

Microcomputer Specialist students

  • Students graduating in November, 1998, report to CompuCollege in St. John's.

  • Students graduating in February, 1999, report to Centrac College in St. John's.

  • Students graduating in June, 1999, report to CompuCollege in St. John's.

All Microcomputer Specialist students doing employability skills, On-The-Job-Training or preparing for On-The-Job-Training are to report to CompuCollege at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, in St. John's.

Office Administration students

Legal Administration
Medical/Legal Administrative Assistant
Executive Assistant
Executive Office Management
Office Management
Executive Secretary

  • All students are to report to Lawrence College in St. John's.

Pharmacy Technician students

  • All students are to report to CompuCollege in St. John's.

Travel and Tourism students

  • All students are to report to Academy Canada in St. John's.

2. GANDER STUDENTS

All students in the Gander area are asked to report to Centrac College at noon (12 p.m.) on Monday, August 24 in Gander.

3. CORNER BROOK STUDENTS

All students in the Corner Brook area are asked to report to Academy Canada at noon(12pm) on Monday, August 24 in Corner Brook.

Information sessions will be held tomorrow, August 21 beginning at noon (12 p.m.) at the Sir Richards Squires Building in Corner Brook.

4. TRINITY-CONCEPTION STUDENTS

  • Officials of the Department of Education are finalizing resource and space requirements with Keyin College.

  • All students will receive further information at the scheduled meetings planned for tomorrow, August 21, at Ascension Collegiate in Bay Roberts beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Students in the following programs are to take note of the progress being made in their area and when further information will be provided.

Aircraft Electronics Technology

  • Officials of the Department of Education are finalizing resources and space requirements with College of the North Atlantic.

  • All students will receive further details at the information sessions planned for tonight at College of the North Atlantic in St. John's.

Aircraft Mechanics Technology

Officials of the Department of Education are finalizing resources and space requirements with College of the North Atlantic.

All students will receive further details at the information sessions planned for tonight at College of the North Atlantic in St. John's.

Dental Assistant

  • Holland College details will be finalized in the next couple of days.

  • All students will receive further details at the information session planned for tonight at College of the North Atlantic in St. John's.

Information Technology

  • Details are being finalized with SHL Learning Technologies.

  • All students will receive further details at the information session planned for tonight at College of the North Atlantic in St. John's and in Corner Brook tomorrow at the Sir Richard Squires Building.

Professional Pilot

  • All students will receive further details at the information sessions planned for tonight at College of the North Atlantic in St. John's.
