Notice of scheduled meetings for students

Several officials of the Department of Education are planning to hold scheduled meetings with students to address their concerns and questions with regards to the recent closing of the Career Academy.

The following scheduled meetings are being held for Gander, Wednesday, August 19 at Centrac College, 61 Elizabeth Drive:

Business students 1:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Microcomputer Specialists students 2 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Pharmacy Technician students 2:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Travel and Tourism students 3 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The following scheduled meetings are being held in Corner Brook, Thursday, August 20, at Academy Canada campus, located on Fern Street.

Business students 9 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Pharmacy Technician students 9:30 a.m. - 10 a.m
Microcomputer Specialist students 10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Electronic Servicing Technicians 10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Information Technology students 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Dental Assistant students 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Animal Care 12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.

These meetings are intended to address the needs of students that were attending Career Academy campuses outside of St. John's and the surrounding area. It will provide a forum for students to address their concerns and receive first-hand information on the progress government is making in arranging placements for students.
