Coast of Bays Corporation launch Promotional Campaign

The Coast of Bays Corporation, a regional economic development board from the province's South Coast is launching a major promotional campaign to attract investors to their area.

"Like other people in rural Newfoundland and Labrador we are strongly committed to revitalizing our economies. In the coming weeks we will be aggressively seeking new investors by targeting companies involved in agriculture, the fishery, cultural industries, tourism, information technology and aquaculture," says Churence Rogers, vice-chair of the board.

"This promotional package is another excellent example of the REDB process working. The Coast of Bays have put together a quality promotional package and a strategy to bring investors to their area," says Beaton Tulk, Minister of Development and Rural Renewal.

The promotional package is entitled "The Natural Way to do Business" and focuses on the region's natural advantages and opportunities.

"Given our abundance of natural resources, unique culture, pristine environment and strategic location in relation to the Eastern Seaboard of the United States as well as the European Economic Union, the Coast of Bays has enormous potential to succeed and prosper," says Tracy Perry, executive director with the Coast of Bays Corporation.

"This is a very positive development for our area and I am pleased to see the potential of the area being promoted in such a professional and systematic way. I think we need to draw attention to the opportunities for development that are present," says Oliver Langdon, Minister of Environment and Labour who represents the South Coast area in the House of Assembly.
