A $1,729,520 contract has been awarded to J-1 Contracting Limited of Clarenville to upgrade and pave 10 kilometres of Route 340 from Boyd's Cove towards Summerford (kilometre 62 to kilometre 72). The announcement was made today by Melvin Penney, MHA - Lewisporte, on behalf of Lloyd Matthews, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation.

This is a joint project between Transport Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador under the Regional Trunk Roads Program. Mr. Penney said the project is to be completed by September 30, 1997.
