A $624,800 contract has been awarded to Provincial Paving Limited of St. John's to resurface from the intersection of Route 430 at Plum Point to Bird Cove, approximately 5.9 km. The announcement was made today by Charles Furey, MHA - St. Barbe, on behalf of Lloyd Matthews, Minister of Works Services and Transportation.

This is a joint project between Transport Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador under the Atlantic Freight Transition Program. Mr. Furey said that this project should be completed by September 30, 1997.
