A $1,468,269.50 contract has been awarded to Penney Paving of
St. John's to pave Mings Bight Road (Route 418) from kilometre 0
to kilometre 9.8 and to pave 1.4 kilometres of local roads in
Mings Bight, a total distance of 11.2 kilometres. The
announcement was made today by Lloyd Matthews, Minister of Works,
Services and Transportation.
This is a joint project between Transport Canada and the
Government of Newfoundland and Labrador under the Freight
Assistance Program.
Mr. Matthews said the project is to be completed by September
30, 1997.
