Lloyd Matthews, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, is pleased to announce that a contract, No. 22-97 THP, upgrading and paving R235 from Open Hall Intersection to Kings Cove Intersection including improvements to R235-20 intersection to Keels, has been awarded to J-1 Contracting Limited of Clarenville.

This is a joint project between Transport Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador under the Atlantic Freight Transition Program.

This contract has a value of $1,155,371 and J-1 Contracting Limited was the lowest of two bidders. This project is to be completed September 30, 1997.
