Lloyd G. Matthews, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, and Anna Thistle, MHA - Grand Falls-Buchans, are pleased to announce that a contract, No. 20-97 THR, upgrading TCH east of Grand Falls- Windsor, km 423.54 to km 427.19, total distance 3.7 km approximately, has been awarded to J-1 Contracting of Clarenville.

This is a joint project between Transport Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador under the Trans Canada Highway Agreement.

This contract has a value of $1,037,720 and J-1 Contracting Ltd. was the lowest of five bidders. This project is to be completed November 15, 1997.
