NOTICE St. Barbe - Blanc Sablon Ferry Service
The Department of Works, Services and Transportation advises
that due to a mechanical problem, the M/V Northern Princess is
not expected to start operation in the St. Barbe - Blanc Sablon
Ferry Service until early June.
Northern Cruiser Ltd. dispatched the M/V Northern Cruiser from
St. John's yesterday to serve as a temporary replacement. The
Northern Cruiser will provide extra crossings as deemed necessary
to alleviate any traffic backlogs. The department is monitoring
the situation to ensure adequate service is provided.
The department assumed responsibility for the St. Barbe -
Blanc Sablon Ferry Service from the federal government effective
April 1, 1997.
