Sport Newfoundland and Labrador will be holding their annual general meeting Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10, at the Delta St. John's Hotel and Convention Centre.

On Friday, May 9, beginning at 7 p.m., a panel discussion will take place on Sexual Abuse and Sport covering topics such as What is it, How To Identify It, and How To Deal With It. Panellists will be St. John's lawyer, John W. McGrath, (facilitator), RNC Sexual Assault Unit, Director of Child Protection Services, (Department of Human Resources and Employment) and a Sexual Assault Victim.

The purpose of this discussion is to assist, identify, educate and to prepare officials, athletes, administrators and coaches in the event that they are confronted with allegation of sexual improprieties involving activities of an athletic nature. It is also hoped that this seminar will provide the participants with the ability to identify sexual abuse and the understanding of how to deal with it.
