The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Provincial Volleyball Try-out

On March 29, the Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association will be holding tryouts for the provincial Girl's Midget team. The tryouts will be held at Grenfell College on Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Girls who are eligible to try-out for the midget team are those athletes born in 1981 or later. All tryouts will have a registration fee of $20 per player with the proceeds of these fees used to help offset the training and travel costs of the teams. Athletes can register by contacting the NLVA at (709) 576-0817 or at the beginning of the first try-out session.

This team will be competing in the Eastern Canadian Championship which will be held in Stephenville during the summer of 1997. The championship will feature teams from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and P.E.I. The coaches that will be leading the girl's midget team are Bruce Andrews (head coach), Jennifer Earle (assistant coach), and Neil Rower (manager). The NLVA is inviting all eligible players to come along and try-out.
