February 24, 1997 (Tourism, Culture and Recreation) The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Provincial Hoop Championship The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will hold its first Senior Provincial Championship of 1997 this weekend, February 28 - March 2, in Carbonear. The "Molson" Men's Division IV Provincial Championship will commence at 1 p.m. on Friday and will conclude with the championship game slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday. Eight teams are entered in the two division event. B & W Meats, Metro All Stars, Pioneers and Burin are entered in Division "A", while New Harbour, Sutton's, M-5 Advertising and the host Conception Bay North All Stars are entered in Division "B".
