The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Pepsi Midget A Girls Provincial Championship

On February 28 and March 1 the town of Botwood will be hosting the Provincial Midget A Girls Volleyball Championships. Games will be played at Botwood Collegiate, Memorial Academy, Grand Falls Academy, and Windsor Collegiate. The tournament will see 19 teams from around the province battle it out for the championship. The teams will be divided up into four divisions with a round-robin format to be played within each division. The top two teams in each division will earn a spot in the semi-finals. Divisional play will get under way on Friday, February 28 at 4 p.m and will continue on Saturday at 9 a.m. The playoffs will take place on Saturday at approximately 2 p.m. with the bronze medal match at approximately 4 p.m. and the gold at 5 p.m. The bronze and gold medal matches will be played at Botwood Collegiate.

The teams that will be competing at this tournament are Botwood Divas, Onca Volleyball Club of St. John's, CBN Knights, CBS Ravens and Falcons, Pasadena Falcons, Gander Collegiate, Grand Falls Ravens, Frank Roberts Academy of Foxtrap, Smallwood Academy of Gambo, St. Boniface of Bell Island, Roncalli, Ascension Collegiate of Bay Roberts, Beaconsfield Saxons of St. John's, Striker's Shoppers of Marystown, St. Mikes of Grand Falls- Windsor, King Academy of Harbour Breton, Presentation of Corner Brook, and Discovery Collegiate of Bonavista. The competition between these teams should result in some of the most exciting volleyball ever played at the midget level.
