Notable Achievements

• - Nancy Hicks set two Provincial Junior and Senior records in the 50kg category
  - Steven Hiscock set three Provincial Junior and Senior records in the 70kg category
  - Beverley Young set three Provincial Junior and Senior records in the 83+kg category
  - David Adams competing as an invite, successfully qualified for the 1997 Canadian Senior Championships being held in Saskatchewan this May.

Competitors from Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Quebec all competed in this event and they are awaiting the mail-in competition results to determine the overall Canadian Junior Championship results.
