The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

On February 21 and 22 the town of Brigus will host the Provincial Midget A Boys Volleyball Championships. Games will be held at Bishop O'Neill Collegiate, and All Halllows School. The tournament will see 10 teams from around the province battle it out for the championship. The teams will be divided up into two divisions of five teams with a round robin format to be played within each division. The top two teams in each division will earn a spot in the semi-finals. Divisional play will get under way on Friday, February 21 at 4 p.m. and will continue on Saturday at 9 a.m. The playoffs will start around 2 p.m with the semi-final rounds, and finish off with the bronze and gold medal matches. Both the bronze and gold medal matches will be played at Bishop O'Neill Collegiate.

The teams that will be competing at this tournament are CBS Sabres Barons, King Academy All Grade of Harbour Breton, St. Marks Diggers of Shearstown, Beothuk Volleyball Club of Grand Falls-Windsor, R.K. Gardner of Sunnyside, Pasadena Academy Falcons, CBS Sabres Volleyball Club, Bishop O'Neill Collegiate, Discovery Collegiate of Bonavista, and Gill Memorial of Musgrave Harbour. The competition between these teams should result in some of the most exciting volleyball ever played at the midget level.
