The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

The Trinity Placentia Figure Skating Club took the trophy for the most improved club at the Eastern Regional Figure Skating Championships held last weekend in Whitbourne.

The most artistic skater was Stephanie Smith from the host club. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded as follows:

Pre-novice "B":
1. Jenelle King, Flying Blades FSC, Clarenville
2. Erika Peddle, Conception Bay North
3. Elizabeth Warren, Flying Blades FSC

Juvenile "A":

Juvenile "B":
1. Lesley Snow, CBN
2. Julie Browne, Flying Blades FSC
3. Jennifer Brown, Flying Blades

Juvenile "C":
1. Diane Grandy, Ice Crystals FSC
2. Melissa Brockerville, Ice Crystals
3. Ashley Way, Silver Wings FSC, Bonavista

Juvenile "D":
1. Joanne Hoskins, Trinity-Placentia FSC
2. Terra Fewer, Ice Crystals
3. Kelly Cribb, Ice Crystals

Preliminary "A":
1. Cheryl Grandy, Ice Crystals
2. Allison Barter, Ice Crystals
3. Melanie Cribb, Ice Crystals

Preliminary "B":

The top three skaters in each of the nine events will represent the Eastern Region at the Central Dairies/Tropicanna Provincials to be held in Gander February 27 to March 1.
