Newfoundland and Labrador Tennis Association Hosts the Cabot 500 Atlantic Regional Junior Outdoor Tennis Championships, July 6-10

The Newfoundland and Labrador Tennis Association will host the 1997 Cabot 500 Atlantic Regional Junior Outdoor Tennis Championships from July 6-10 at the Riverdale Tennis Club on Rennie's Mill Road, and the Greenbelt Tennis Club at the Lion's Park Facility, St. John's. Over 100 of Atlantic Canada's best tennis players from the under 12, under 14, under 16 and under 18 age categories are expected to compete for the chance to represent the Atlantic provinces at the 1997 Corel National Junior Outdoor Tennis Championships in August.

Opening ceremonies will be held at the Riverdale Tennis Club at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 5. Play begins on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. Match schedules will be posted at the Riverdale Tennis Club on a daily basis. Closing ceremonies will take place on Thursday, July 10, after completion of the final rounds. The tournament chairperson is Pushpa Pushpanathan, and tournament referee is Brett Williams. Sponsors for the event are the St. John's Cabot 500 Committee, Discovery Springs and Coca-Cola.
