The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Todd Martin - Volleyball Canada Vice President

Todd Martin is no stranger to volleyball in this province and country. Todd's involvement with the Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association executive began in 1978 when he was the secretary until 1981. Since 1990, he was the director for Volleyball Canada and for the last three years was president of the provincial association. In 1989, he coached the Men's Canada Games team and assisted the women's team in 1993. He was the head coach of the 1988-89 Memorial University Men's Volleyball team and for the past three years he has been involved with the women's team as head coach for one year and assistant coach for two. Todd is also a nationally certified referee. His accomplishments are diverse and numerous with his most recent being elected to the Executive Committee of Volleyball Canada as vice-president at their annual general meeting in Ottawa last weekend. As vice-president, Todd will be responsible for overseeing both the men's and women's national indoor volleyball teams, taking care of the finances for Volleyball Canada and acting as a liaison between the executive and the national Official's Committee. With this new position, unfortunately, Todd will have to resign as NLVA president. We wish him the best of luck in the future and we are certain he will bring to Volleyball Canada all the experiences and good times he gave Newfoundland and Labrador.
