Canada Games Women's Soccer Team Selected

After a two-day selection camp held this past weekend, coach Ed Arnott announced the women's soccer team that will represent Newfoundland at the 1997 Canada Games to be held in Brandon, Manitoba, Aug 9-23. Members of the Team are:

    Kristen Arnott, St. John's
    Sarah Arnott, St. John's
    Fiona Curtis, St. John's
    Narina Delaney, St. John's
    Michele Derwin, Mt. Pearl
    Joanne Hefford, St. John's
    Tamar Hood, St. John's
    Susan Myrden, St. John's
    Jennifer Neville, Paradise
    Julie Robbins, Coner Brook
    Megan Roberts, St. John's
    Susan Russell, St. John's
    Anne Stapleton, Mt. Pearl
    Krista Stewart, Marystown
    Erika Stokes, St. John's
    Kerri Walsh, Mt. Pearl

Named as team alternates were Karen Wade of St. John's and Cathy Quinlan of Mt. Pearl. The team's assistant coach in Mary Cameron and the manager is Marie Roberts.

The Canada Games '97 women's soccer team will play in Nova Scotia in June and in Ontario in July as part of their preparations for the Games. As well, the team hopes to play several exibition games against teams in the St. John's Senior Woman's League.
