Pepsi Minor Hoops Tournament

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will hold three Minor Pepsi Provincial Championships this weekend, April 18-19. The Goulds will play host to East Coast Mini (under 11) boys and girls tournament with a total of 13 teams entered to compete. Eight teams entered in the boys category include: Birchy Brook, Scotia Bank and the Lions Club from the Goulds' Hoopster's league, St. Kevin's, Placentia YBC, Dunne Memorial from St. Mary's Bay, Park Avenue Elementary from Mount Pearl and St. Peter's of Mount Pearl. Five teams are registered in the girls category including St. Kevin's and the Hoopsters from the Gould's, St. Peter's of Mount Pearl, Dunne Memorial of St. Mary's Bay and Placentia YBC.

Glenwood will play host to the West Coast Juvenile (under 17) Boys Championship with a total of five teams entered in the round-robin format. Teams entered include St. James from Port aux Basques, Belanger Memorial of Doyles, Elwood from Deer Lake, Herdman Collegiate from Corner Brook and the host Lakewood Academy from Glenwood. All tournaments are slated to commence on Friday with the championship games slated for Saturday evening.
