Provincial Boys Bantam Volleyball Championships

Catalina captured the provincial boys bantam volleyball championship held this past weekend in Conception Bay South. The winners went undefeated in the eight team tournament and defeated Carmanville in the final by scores of 15-6 and 15-5. Catalina advanced to the final by defeating the host team CBS Ravens by scores of 15-12 and 15-7. In other semi-final Carmanville defeated Conception Bay North by scores of 15-4 and 15-10. In the bronze medal match Sabres defeated CBN by scores of 15-3 and 15-5. The only individual award presented at this level is a sportsmanship award which went to Devon Wellon of Carmanville. Members of the championship Catalina team are Jamie Pittman, Ryan Duffett, David Penny, Jarryd Johnson, Blair Sheppard, Michael Hogan, Stephen Keough, Brian White, Andrew Rumbolt and Ian Humby, with coaches Chris Hogan and Tom Walsh.
