Humber wins Juvenile A Boys Volleyball

The home team Humber Volleyball Club (HVC) captured the Provincial Juvenile A Boys Volleyball Championships this past weekend. In the final match HVC defeated Bishop White All Grade of Port Rexton by scores of 15-8 and 15-8. HVC advanced to the final by defeating Labrador West 15-3 and 15-6. Bishop White advanced to the final by defeating Roncalli of Avondale by scores of 15-2, 11-15 and 15-5. In the bronze medal match Labrador West defeated Roncalli by scores of 15-12 and 15-13. By winning the tournament, Humber Volleyball Club earns the right to compete at the National Juvenile Championships being held in New Brunswick in May.

Members of the all-star team are Brad Hawco (Roncalli), Chris Kelly (Labrador West), Darren Clark (Bishop White), Dean Bailey (Bishop White), Pat Lake (HVC) and Chad Keats(HVC). The most spirited player in the tournament was Richard Butt of Humber Volleyball Club.
