March 18, 1997 (Tourism, Culture and Recreation) The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: 1997 Winter Provincial Gymnastics Championships The Winter Provincials will be co-hosted by the Cygnus, CBS and Campia-Mount Pearl Clubs at the Cygnus Gymnastics Facility, Buckmasters Circle, St. John's on March 21 and 22. Athletes in Provincial Level's 2, 3 and National from Labrador, Corner Brook, Gander, CBS, Mount Pearl and St. John's will be competing. This competition is the qualifier for both male and female athletes for the 1997 Atlantic Championships, April 25-26 in Sydney, Nova Scotia and the 1997 National Championships, May 11-19, in Ottawa, Ontario. A number of athletes are expected to qualify for the Atlantic and National competitions. Competition will commence 7 p.m. Friday, March 21 and conclude 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22.
