The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Hoops try-outs: Provincial

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will conduct try- outs for two summer Provincial Team Programs on the west coast during the March 21-22 weekend. Try-outs will be conducted for the Juvenile and Midget Girls programs and will be opened to all athletes west of Gander (including Gander).

Juvenile Girls: Athletes must be born in 1980 or later to be eligible for the camp. The camp will be held at Elwood Regional School in Deer Lake on March 21 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on March 22 between the hours of 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and from 2 p.m - 4 p.m. The head coach for the Juvenile Program is Kellie Baker and she will be joined by assistant coach Kim Maher, both from St. John's.

Midget Girls: Athletes must be born in 1982 or later to be eligible for the camp. The clinic will be held at Elwood Regional High School in Deer Lake on March 21 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on March 22 between the hours of 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. The head coach for the Midget Girls Program is Memorial's Doug Partridge of St. John's.

A registration fee of $10 will be charged on site. Participants for both programs will meet at Elwood School Gym for the first session and will receive further instructions at that time. No pre-registration is necessary.
