The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

The Northern Dawn Figure Skating Club, Churchill Falls was the Most Improved Club at the Labrador Regional Figure Skating Championships held last weekend in Wabush.

The trophy for the highest total points accumulated by a club went to Polaris FSC, Labrador City.

The Evelyn Power Award for the most artistic skater went to Stephanie Maher of Polaris FSC who also took the Pre-novice Compulsory Short Program award.

The Alice and Cyrilla Dobbin Award for the highest technical mark in preliminary ladies "A" event went to Jessica Doffing, of Polaris.

The Nikki Panagiotopolous Award for 100 per cent effort to the sport of figure skating went to Vanessa Peddle of Wabush FSC.

The Jodi St. Louis-Byrne Award for the youngest competitor in the championship went to Shanna Leaman of Wabush.

Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded as follows:

Juvenile "C":
1. Lita Tretina, Snowflake FSC
2. Krystyna Edwards, Polaris FSC

Juvenile "D":

The top three skaters in each of the 11 events will represent the Labrador Region at the Central Dairies/Tropicanna Provincials to be held in Gander, February 22 - March 1.
