January 6, 1997 (Tourism, Culture and Recreation) The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Due to extenuating circumstances the Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association were forced to change the sites of three provincial championships announced earlier in the year. The Men's Division I Open Tournament originally scheduled for Stephenville has been moved to Trepassey on the weekend of April 25-27. The Men's Division III Tournament originally scheduled for Corner Brook will be held in Mount Pearl on February 28 - March 2. The Ladies Division II Tournament scheduled for Stephenville will now be hosted in St. John's, March 7-9. The deadline for teams to enter any of the above events has been moved to January 31, 1997.
