Newfoundland Flotilla 97 arrives in St. John's Harbour

NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Newfoundland Flotilla is scheduled to arrive in St. John's Harbour Thursday afternoon, June 19, between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The Flotilla includes 73 vessels from around the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River. The majority of the vessels departed from Toronto on May 10 and have arrived to tumultuous welcomes at ports along the South Coast of Newfoundland. Many flotilla participants will continue on from St. John's to rendezvous with the Matthew as it makes Landfall in Bonavista, June 24.

Newfoundland Flotilla 97 is a non-profit event organized by private interests to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of John Cabot's voyage and landfall in Newfoundland.
