Social Assistance cheques to be delivered by mail Human Resources and Employment Minister Julie Bettney announced today that end of month social assistance cheques will be delivered by mail carriers despite the current labour dispute. Cheques normally due for delivery on the 28th of November are now due to arrive in the mail on November 26. Following discussions with Canada Post, the Department of Human Resources and Employment is satisfied that this process will ensure delivery of cheques in a timely manner.
