M. Browne, Q.C.:
Call for Submissions issued for the study on
Gasoline Prices
Dennis M. Browne, Q.C., has issued a call for submissions for
the Study on Gasoline Prices. Any interested individuals or
groups who wish to make a submission, orally or written, should
contact Dennis M. Browne to indicate their intention to make a
submission. The submission would be part of a study set up by the
provincial government to examine the reasons for the differences
in the price of gasoline in various parts of the province and
whether regulation of gas prices would be in the public's best
interest.
Browne said: "We have been given a mandate by the
provincial government to consult with the public. As part of the
consultation process, we are inviting any interested individual,
or group, wishing to be heard on these issues to indicate their
intention to make a submission. The concerns of the public must
be heard and by providing an opportunity for the public to
forward information and viewpoints on these issues we hope to
address these concerns."
Mr. Browne has also contacted industry representatives
informing them of his mandate and inviting them to cooperate in
the study.
