Extension and upgrading for Chouse Brook Resource Road The Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, Kevin Aylward, announced today the plans for a 1.9 kilometre extension and two kilometres of resurfacing, to the Chouse Brook Resource Road, near the community of Hampdon on the province's west coast. "I am pleased to inform the public that Brook Enterprises of Corner Brook has been awarded this contract valued at $87,607.30. "This project will provide access for sawlog and pulpwood production for commercial operators in the area, in addition it will provide future silviculture to ensure long term management of our valuable forest resource." Rick Woodford, MHA - Humber Valley, said: "I am pleased to join Mr. Aylward today to announce this contract for the Chouse Brook Resource Road. This project will have a positive impact not only on our forest sector, but it will provide 10 weeks employment for six people in the area." Work on this project is expected to commence in late August and be completed by the end of October.
