Extension and upgrading planned for Bridgers Pond Resource Road

Kevin Aylward, Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, announced today that approval has been given for 4.4 kilometres of upgrading and extension to the Bridgers Pond Resource Road. The minister stated: "I am pleased to inform the public that Critch's Construction of Springdale has been awarded this contract valued at $158,970.15. This extension will access mature and over mature timber for sawlog and pulpwood production, in addition it will maintain the existing road and construct a 40 foot steel bridge, which is a vital component to the forest industry in the province."

Rick Woodford, MHA - Humber Valley said: "I am pleased to join the Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods in making this announcement. This project will have significant impact on the forest sector and the communities in the Humber Valley, as well it will provide 10 weeks of employment for 10 people in the area."

Work on this project is anticipated to start in late July and be completed in early October.
