Roadbed improvement project for Trinity North

The Minister of Forestry Resources and Agrifoods, Beaton Tulk, and Doug Oldford, MHA - Trinity North, are pleased to announce the award of a contract for roadbed refurbishment in the George's Brook area.

The successful bidder is Short's Backhoe and Trucking Limited of Hillview. They will be responsible for the reconstruction of one kilometre of the George's Brook resource road. As Mr. Tulk pointed out: "The project will allow continued use of the road to vehicles involved in forestry work. It's important that work of this type is done here and around the province so that the harvesting of timber can be carried out efficiently." Mr. Oldford said: "The government is meeting the need for continued maintenance to our province's resource roads."

The project will employ six people for a two-week period beginning June 15. It is valued at $9,350.
