Changes to dates in the 1996-97 Hunting Guide

The Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods wishes to inform the public that the winter fishing dates printed in the 1996-97 Hunting Guide are incorrect.

The following are the correct season date for the 1997 trout fishing season:

Sea-run Brown Trout: Open - Feb. 8 Close - Oct. 5

Scheduled Rainbow
Trout Waters: Open - June 7 Close - Oct. 5

Rainbow Trout
Bay d'Espoir: Open - Jan. 6 Close - Dec. 31

(An extended season for rainbow trout fishing is permitted in the area of Northwest Brook, Bay d'Espoir, inside the DFO caution signs, up to and including in the tail race of the hydro plant).
