September 30, 1997 Prime Minister to address Atlantic Vision luncheon Prime Minister Jean Chretien will speak at the Atlantic Vision Conference, taking place October 9 and 10 in Moncton, New Brunswick. Premier Frank McKenna announced today, on behalf of Newfoundland Premier Brian Tobin, Prince Edward Island Premier Pat Binns and Nova Scotia Premier Russell MacLellan, that the Prime Minister will be the keynote speaker at the conference's closing luncheon on Friday, October 10. The two-day conference is designed to help identify the building blocks for a new Atlantic economy. "We are pleased that Prime Minister Chretien has accepted our invitation to speak at this important event," McKenna said. "By developing a focused Atlantic vision, we are working toward self-sufficiency, which is positive for our region and for all of Canada." Other federal representatives at the conference will include federal Industry Minister John Manley, who will be keynote speaker at the Thursday luncheon; Solicitor General Andy Scott; Veterans' Affairs and ACOA Minister Fred Mifflin; Labour Minister Lawrence MacAulay, and Senator Al Graham, leader of the government in the senate. The Atlantic Vision web site was launched today on the World Wide Web.
