ARRIVAL OF PARTICIPANTS - 2:15 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

• Honourable Fred Mifflin and Mrs. Mifflin, representing Government of Canada, arrive at Confederation Building and are greeted at the front doors by the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, Honourable Brian Tobin and Mrs. Jodean Tobin.

  Honourable James R. Gushue, Chief Justice of Newfoundland and Mrs. Gail Gushue arrive at Confederation Building and are greeted at the front door by Premier and Mrs. Tobin.

  The Lieutenant-Governor Designate, Dr. Max House and Mrs. House are greeted at the front doors of Confederation Building by Premier and Mrs. Tobin.

CEREMONY - 2:30 p.m. - approximately 4:15 p.m.

• Premier and Mrs. Tobin accompanied by the Chief Justice and Mrs. Gushue, the Speaker of the House and Mrs. Snow, the Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs and Mrs. Reid, and the representative of the Government of Canada and spouse enter in procession in the House of Assembly, led by the Sergeant at Arms.

  The Lieutenant-Governor Designate and Mrs. House accompanied by the Private Secretary to the Lieutenant-Governor are led into the chamber by the Sergeant at Arms.

  The Chief Justice of Newfoundland administers the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office to the Lieutenant-Governor Designate
