Environment and Labour Minister Oliver Langdon has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act. In the case of documents received or approved, copies may be obtained by contacting the regional office of the Department of Environment and Labour or by calling toll-free 1-800-563-6181. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date following each item.
The minister has appointed an Environmental Assessment Committee pursuant to Subsection 2 of Section 22 of the Environmental Assessment Act, RSN 1990, c. E-14 to advise him on scientific and technical matters related to the project and to prepare technical and scientific reports. The committee will be represented by the following provincial and federal agencies:
The minister has also appointed a representative from Community Health, St. John's Region to act as an advisor to the Assessment Committee. NO ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT REQUIRED: The minister has decided that an environmental impact statement is not required for the following undertaking which has recently been registered and examined by government and the public. The undertaking is released subject to other regulatory and permitting requirements. - Clovelly Trails (St. John's Region) Executive Golf Course A guide to the Environmental Assessment Process is available from the Department of Environment and Labour.
