NOTE TO EDITORS:

June 2-8, 1997 is Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Week (COHS Week). The theme for this year is "Managing Safety - An Element of Productivity".

The Steering Committee for Canadian Occupational Health and Safety (COHS) Week, invite media representatives to attend a luncheon and awards presentation in honour of Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Week 1997. A news conference will start at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 4 at the

 Fluvarium, Pippy Park, St. John's. Kevin Aylward, Minister of Environment and Labour, who is responsible for occupational health and safety, will be presenting awards to a number of companies and individuals in recognition of their initiatives during the past year in the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses.
