Road contract awarded for construction of nine kilometers of R432 Main Brook towards Hare Bay

Julie Bettney, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, and Chris Decker, MHA - Straits & White Bay North, are pleased to announce that a $1,264,690 contract (30-96 THN) has been awarded to Barker's Construction Ltd. of Mount Pearl.

The contract calls for the construction of R432 Main Brook towards Hare Bay (R430) kilometre 18 to 27, approximately nine kilometres. This is a joint project between Transport Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador under the Regional Trunk Roads Agreement. Barker's Construction Ltd. was the lowest of 11 bidders. This project is to be completed by July 31, 1997.
