Contract awarded for grading Trans Canada Highway from
Pynn's Brook Scalehouse towards Little Rapids

John Efford, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, is pleased to announce that an $8,869,132 contract (No. 44-95 THN) has been awarded to Western Construction Co. Ltd. of Stephenville Crossing.

The contract includes grading the Trans Canada Highway from Pynn's Brook Scalehouse towards Little Rapids, approximately 11.2 kilometres.

This is a joint project between Transport Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador under the Trans Canada Highway Agreement.

Western Construction Co. Ltd. was the lowest of three bidders. This project is to be completed by September 1997.
